How do you like these beautiful pictures from the 1970’s that my Grandmother gave me? I’m sure you are very jealous!
Soooooo, what is better than beautiful silk fabric, lovely ribbon and a monogram? Something that combines all three! First, I painted and distressed the frames.
Then I took some left over silk that I had from my dining room drapes from a couple of years ago and wrapped it around some picture mats (that doesn’t sound like the right word but I’m drawing a blank?). Then I printed out our monograms on some card stock and cut them to fit the frames.
Not perfect by any means. They are a little off centered and the fabric is wrinkled but I am not that picky. Plus, they are not going to hang right beside each other. Lastly, I added some brown ribbon and hung them with an upholstery tack.
I knew I could do something with them, I just didn’t know what. I thought about it for a couple of weeks and decided I needed something beside our bed. I had thought about printing out something that said “His” and “Hers” and then hanging them on each side of the bed but that just wasn’t working.

What a cute idea! I have TONS of frames and am thankful for all this inspiration! As for contests, since supplies are always my challenge (affording the supplies specifically), perhaps supplies or gift certs for supplies…Or all the stuff for a DIY craft…just ideas!
